What to do if (you suspect) your pet ingested a potentially poisonous substance?

If you think your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, please call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) at *(888) 426-4435*, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A consultation fee may apply.

You are also welcome to give our office a call to assess if a call to ASPCA Animal Poison Control is advised. Please be aware our staff may advise you to call ASPCA directly to get access to the suggested treatment plan as quickly as possible. Depending on the recommended treatment plan we are able to either assist you and your pet at our hospital or we can refer you to WestVet for any emergency treatment.

What if my pet has an emergency?

We are able to assist with stabilization and provide care for your pet in the unfortunate case of an emergency. Due to our hours of operation, we are unable to provide overnight hospitalization. If you and your pet experience an emergency, please do not hesitate to call us or go to the veterinary emergency center nearest to you. If we are closed, please contact West Vet Animal Specialty and Emergency Center. Their number is 208-375-1600 and their address is 5024 W Chinden Blvd, Garden City.

Hidden Springs Animal Hospital primarily welcomes dogs and cats of all breeds. We are able to provide care for exotics, such as pocket pets, avian and reptiles, via telemedicine with veterinarian, Dr. Karlee Hondo-Rust.

What hours are you open?

Our hours are currently Mon – Thu: 8:30am – 5:30pm. We are open one Friday a month. Our next Friday opening is December 20th.

These hours are subject to change pending client and patient needs.

Do you take walk-ins?

We understand that life happens! We are able to accommodate walk-in appointments, but we kindly ask that you understand we are likely working you around other previously scheduled appointments. In the event we do not have any available appointments, you may be subject to a walk-in fee.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept a majority of all major credit and debit cards, such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also take Care Credit and cash payments.

What services do you offer?

At Hidden Springs Animal Hospital, we are a full service general veterinary practice. We offer routine wellness exams, vaccinations, health certificates, elective procedures, radiographs, ultrasound, long-term patient management, humane euthanasia, dental procedures, and much more! If there is something we are unable to provide your pet, we will refer you to a hospital that offers that care.

Do you treat wildlife?

We are not equipped to treat wildlife at this time. In the event you come across wildlife in need of care we ask that you contact Animals in Distress and/or Idaho Fish and Game. In the unfortunate circumstance that you come across an injured animal that is suffering, please do not hesitate to contact us for humane euthanasia, as we do not want to see any animal suffer.

Do you take in stray animals?

We are more than happy to scan for a microchip and help you contact owners if you find a stray animal! Unfortunately, we are not able to take in or keep stray animals at the hospital. In the event that you come across a stray animal and are unable to locate their owners, we ask that you contact animal control or Idaho Humane Society.
